"Chef's Tv" is a VR cooking game by Games4Love. Players will have the chance to experience what it's like to cook on a cooking show from a first person point of view. Pick-up, chop, mix, and create a wide variety of dishes to impress the judges with your own cooking show like the ones on TV.

Kitchen TV Set Concept 1

When I was brought on to the project I was asked to create kitchen concepts as my first assignment and to make it look like the kitchen sets on cooking shows. Most of there photos came from google and Pinterest to get an idea of TV kitchens.

In the first inspiration board I looked for a clean look with shows like "The Kitchen" and "Hell's Kitchen" in mind. The second inspiration had a lot of equipment I wanted to integrate into the design.

For the second concept, I was looking for either and Italian or modern cottage like style.

The inspiration mostly consist of the kitchen in the pictures next to the concept. For the color scheme, I tried to pick warm browns and very light pinks to compliment the would. For the wall I wanted it to have a stone look to it, while the stove, sink and fridge stayed modern. Adding in plants to make it feel earthy.

Kitchen TV Set Concept 3

For the third and last concept, I had urban/rustic apartment in mind. I thought it would be fun to have the sliding windows and make the fridge part of the island. Give it baskets and shelves instead of cabinets.

I thought by giving the option of an outside area, if the game creator decided to make a grill/BBQ level they would have the option with this one.

Chosen Kitchen TV Set Concept with Changes & Add-ons

After a our team meeting the concepts were to put to a vote and the second concept was chosen.

I was then asked to add another counter, microwave, blender, clock, and more decorations to fit the kitchen. I was also asked to remove the walls.

Set Lights and Fake Walls

After the kitchen counters and props were completed then we focused more on the walls and lighting. Having been on Warner Bros. Set tours I tried to style the walls similar and went onto Google to better depict my concept to the team.

As for the lights, I looked around the internet for awhile before finding these big lights that used sheets to cover and diffuse the light to make it look more natural. I those it would be a good idea to use it for the set.

More Decorations

Having finished the walls and ceiling, I was then tasked with creating more decorations for the kitchen.

Judge Area Concept

After the entire kitchen was completed then we moved onto the judging area. I was told they only wasn't a table and some stools for the judges to sit as well as some filming equipment.

I tried to make a table styled like the ones from "Chopped", "Baking Wars", and many more while tying it in to the kitchen so it wasn't out of place.

For the film equipment, I took bits and pieces from all the camera pictures I could find to make the camera in the concept. For the boom mic, I tried to find one with a good amount of length.

Studio Concept

After the kitchen and judging area were completed we then need a studio warehouse to film the entire thing. I was given a reference for this one as was asked to create one exactly like it.

Logo Concepts

Having completed the scene the team needed a logo to place in the scene. I created two and they were voted on. Among the two, the second one was chosen.
